Ghouls, ghosts, and horror fans are out as spooky season is in full swing, and those who can’t get enough of the thrills found themselves at Screamfest, which took place from Oct. 6–15 in Hollywood, California. The 26th annual festival brought scary movie enthusiasts together to celebrate filmmakers and writers from around the world and give them a platform to showcase their work. The spook-tacular horror film festival was jam-packed with world premieres, special events, and screenings of nail-biting student and animated shorts and feature films.

One of the many highlights from Screamfest was the premiere of 213 Bones. The slasher film serves as a time machine back to the ’90s and takes viewers to Bristol Falls College. As a series of murders unfolds at the hands of a masked killer, the survivors are left to use their anthropological knowledge of the body’s 213 bones to find out who the killer really is before it’s too late.

The film stars Colin Egglesfield, Luna Fujimoto, Hunter Nance, Liam Woodrum, Dean Cameron, Toni Weiss, and Francesca Barker McCormick. 213 Bones is directed by the late Jeffrey Primm, whose legacy continues through this film, which will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

213 Bones celebrated its premiere with a reception at La Popular in Ovation Hollywood, followed by a screening of the film at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre. A Q&A then took place after the screening.

The night truly was a special one, especially as everyone in attendance honored director Jeffrey Primm’s work.

“We really want to celebrate what [Jeffrey] had accomplished,” said producer Tyler Jon Olson. “Unfortunately, we lost him shortly after editing the movie, so let’s remember him tonight.”
