15 Aug

Here comes the bride, all dressed in white, here comes the bridesmaids making their way down to the Rockwell Table & Stage! One movie that has become a classic and is a film that we all can watch over and over again definitely has to be Bridesmaids. What’s not to love about this exceptional film?! It has an all-star, phenomenal cast consisting of fan-favorite, profound actresses and actors. It has a spectacular storyline and it makes us all remember the excitement of our very special wedding… or maybe it makes us all remember being super, duper single. Needless to say, Bridesmaids is one iconic movie with so many unforgettable memories, so when we found out that the all new show from Kate Pazakis’ “Unauthorized Musical Parody Of” series is UMPO: Bridesmaids, we couldn’t contain our excitement, and we definitely grabbed our bouquets and got ready to head on over to the Rockwell Table & Stage to watch this brilliant show.

It goes without saying that any show that writer / producer, Kate Pazakis is behind is truly a masterpiece and UMPO: Bridesmaids is Kate Pazakis’ best one yet. Then again, every show that Kate Pazakis works on turns to gold. UMPO: Bridesmaids is filled with so many hilarious moments and it’s a very enjoyable show that takes us along on Annie and the bridesmaids’ journey to make Lillian’s wedding absolutely phenomenal. UMPO: Bridesmaids will make you have a smile from start to finish and it’s one remarkable show you won’t be able to stop talking about. UMPO: Bridesmaids captures the movie so well but it also adds its own special twist with exceptional covers of hit songs and amazing parodies all intertwined in one, sensational show. From songs such as “True” by Spandau Ballet to Taylor Swift’s hit song “Bad Blood,” you’ll be jamming out nonstop while watching UMPO: Bridesmaids.

Of course, the exceptional show couldn’t have been made possible without the marvelous and immensely talented cast consisting of Natalie Lander, Desi Dennis-Dylan, Ashley Argota, Nohely Quiroz, Aynsley Bubbico, Molly Stilliens, Nathan Moore, Heir Kirkegaard, and Michael Thomas Grant.

In addition, Tony award winning actress, Marissa Jaret Winokur added her magic onto this production by directing the show. Marissa Jaret Winokur talked exclusively with Alexisjoyvipaccess at the press opening night of UMPO: Bridesmaids and talked about what it was like for her to have directed the show. Marissa Jaret Winokur said, “It’s been amazing! I actually have always wanted to direct and musical theater is clearly what I want to direct. It’s been really great. The cast is amazing. We’ve put together a lot of new faces, a lot of new voices at the Rockwell and a couple of ones that have been here before. I’ve never put my heart and soul into something so much. When I perform, I get nervous for myself, but now I’m nervous for all eight cast-members, I’m like, “I hope they nail it!”

The wonderful Marissa Jaret Winokur also revealed to Alexisjoyvipaccess what the biggest difference is between acting and directing and said, “Well, as an actress, I’m literally just worrying about myself, but as a director, I have to plan out the whole picture, the whole thing, and also not just worrying about my own beats and my own jokes, it’s like trying to ring in the actors and actresses and being like, “This is what’s written. This is the joke. If you step on the line here, you’re messing up this beat.” Just trying to keep everyone focused, I come in with a very clear plan, rather than my way of an actress I’m like, “Oh, let’s just play. Let’s have fun!” but as a director, I’m like, there’s a lot more homework.”

I, Alexisjoyvipaccess had an excellent time covering and attending the sensational, press opening night of UMPO: Bridesmaids and I can definitely say that this is one extraordinary show that you don’t want to miss. Check out some pictures and a video below from the outstanding UMPO: Bridesmaids show and be sure to get your tickets to see the Unauthorized Musical Parody Of Bridesmaids at the Rockwell Table & Stage from August 11th through September 17th. VIPAccessEXCLUSIVE: “The Last Breakfast Club” Musical Parody At The Rockwell Is The Hottest Show To Watch This Summer – Alexisjoyvipaccess RECAP!

4 Jun

“Don’t you forget about me…” and one stupendous show that you will certainly never forget is The Last Breakfast Club at The Rockwell in Los Angeles, California taking place all summer long. We’ve all seen the iconic John Hughes movie, The Breakfast Club, and although the movie was released back in 1985, it still stands the test of time, and it’s a film that generations after generations love and cherish watching. Needless to say, when Bradley Bredeweg and Kate Pazakis put their own spin on the classic movie, the masterpiece of The Last Breakfast Club musical parody was created.

Creator and producing artistic director, Kate Pazakis is truly a genius who has and continues to bring out an endless amount of awe-inspiring and terrific shows at The Rockwell. She brought “The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of” series to life with several shows including Mean GurlzHome AloneCluelessHocus Pocus, and many others. Each show is unique on its own and has tons of excellent, musical numbers and marvelous memories. However, The Last Breakfast Club definitely does stand out as one of Kate Pazakis’ greatest and most spectacular creations thus far.

The Last Breakfast Club takes a spin on the classic movie where five, polar opposite students are stuck together for Saturday detention – this time, however, the students are indeed, stuck – as in they have been stuck for who knows how long now after the nuclear apocalypse. Talk about an exciting and fascinating twist on the movie! It seems as though Andrew, Brian, Bender, Claire and Allison, along with the (hilarious!!) janitor, Carl are the only ones left – not just in the Shermer High School Library, but on the planet as a whole! The only person left to possibly help them out is Principal Vernon – who is a zombie now. Think Walking Dead meets a legendary film – it totally makes for some awesome LOL moments!

In addition to a remarkable storyline, The Last Breakfast Club brings out some of the most popular, fan-favorite songs from the 80’s. The musical parody will have you jamming out to songs from R.E.M., Prince, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Journey, Chuck Berry, Tears For Fears, and many more. This sensational, musical parody will have you smiling from ear to ear and leave you in the greatest, euphoric feeling. We’ve always wanted to time-travel and The Last Breakfast Club is the perfect way to take a step back in time to the 80’s.

Of course, this show couldn’t have been made possible if it weren’t for the all-star, incredible cast which consists of profound and prolific actors and actresses known for their indescribable talents in many renowned TV, movie and theatrical projects. The brilliant cast includes Garrett Clayton, Max Ehrich, Anna Grace Barlow, Lana McKissack, and Jonah Platt as “The Brain,” The Athlete,” “The Princess,” “The Basketcase,” and “The Criminal.” Also starring in the production are Jimmy Ray Bennett as Principal Vernon and Damon Gravina as Carl. No amount of words can fully describe just how much of a phenomenal cast they are. They all have magnificent talents of their own that when joined together will truly leave you speechless. While watching The Last Breakfast Club, you can see how much passion each one of the cast-members have for what they do. Their singing voices are mesmerizing, their stage presence is impeccable, and it’s certainly a cast that can’t be beat.

The Last Breakfast Club is everything and more that you could want in a perfect musical parody. The Last Breakfast Club has it all – great messages to bring out to attendees, relevant topics and issues dealt with in today’s society, and many heart-warming moments.

I, Alexisjoyvipaccess had a wonderful time covering and attending The Last Breakfast Club press opening night and I can say that The Last Breakfast Club is the hottest show out this summer that you need to watch! You’re not going to want to miss out on all of the fun and you’ll definitely need to watch this amazing show not just once, not just twice, but many times – that’s just how exceptional it is! The Last Breakfast Club runs through July 22nd at The Rockwell Table & Stage – get your tickets now to watch and dine at Rockwell-LA.com. Who would’ve thought that detention on a Saturday isn’t really all that bad?

Another thing it’s known for is providing such spectacular and extraordinary entertainment for all of those who want to dine out and enjoy a wonderful night. The Rockwell has already brought out seven shows from  Kate Pazaki’s “The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of” series including “Hocus Pocus,” which gave everyone a spooktacular show perfect in time for Halloween, as well as other unauthorized musical parody shows including “Scream,” “Cruel Intentions,” “Clueless,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “The Big Lebowski,” and “Troop Beverly Hills.” In fact, after the show’s run of “Home Alone,” The Rockwell will also be bringing out highly-anticipated unauthorized musical parody shows of “The Hunger Games” and “Mean Girls” – you definitely have to get your tickets for these shows as you certainly won’t want to miss them!

I, Alexisjoyvipaccess had a marvelous time attending the press screening of the unauthorized musical parody of “Home Alone” last night, December 2, 2016 and I can definitely say that it was one of the most remarkable musical parodies I have seen. The cast of the production are all so magnificently talented and they put so much passion into making the show an unforgettable one for all attendees. I loved how light-hearted the show was and how it was filled with a whimsical sense of humor that everyone can enjoy. The thing that sets Kate Pazakis’ “The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of” shows from others is that the shows are very interactive and make you feel like you’re not just watching the show, but that you’re actually there experiencing all that the characters are going through – even if that means being “Home Alone” and having your whole family in Paris. Oooh la la? More like – Oooh no no!

Last night’s press screening starred Caitlin Gallogly, who played the iconic role of Kevin McCallister, as well as Joey Bybee, Marla Mindelle, Alex Mohajer, Misha Reeves, Spencer Strong Smith, Peter Allen Vogt, and Zach Zagoria. Each of the actors and actresses brought the show to life in such a fantastic way and I was laughing from start to finish with all of the witty jokes. I also really enjoyed how the show included a variety of songs – from quintessential holiday songs including Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” to Adele’s chart-topping song, “Hello” and the cast put their own hysterical, “Home Alone” twist to the lyrics.

If I could end off this article by saying one thing, it would be that you have to go out and see Kate Pazakis’ Unauthorized Musical Parody of “Home Alone” and get your tickets at http://rockwell-la.com.
