From memes to paintings to cartoon drawings of our favorite feline friends – we’ve seen it all! But have YOU ever seen a bacon-themed painting and bacon-themed sculpture of furry friends: Grumpy Cat, Nala Cat, Waffles, SamHasEyebrows, Oskar the Blind Cat and Klaus? Bacon lovers and cat lovers united as Friskies presented their ‘Haus of Bacon’ event in Austin, Texas on March 14, 2015 and March 15, 2015. Celebrating the launch of their latest cat meal, Tasty Treasures Accentuated With Real Bacon, Friskies gave fans the opportunity to view bacon-themed artwork at the ‘Haus of Bacon’ art gallery and even get the chance to meet and snap a picture with Grumpy Cat, Nala Cat, Waffles, SamHasEyebrows, Oskar the Blind Cat and Klaus!

Friskies always does a phenomenal job in giving back and asked for everyone to stay in the loop by using the hashtag #CatDreamsComeTrue. With an accomplished goal of 25,000 uses of the hashtag #CatDreamsComeTrue, Friskies donated a whopping 50,000 cans of Tasty Treasures Accentuated With Real Bacon to shelter cats across the nation!

According to the press release, “Cats and bacon are two of the Internet’s most beloved topics. So to celebrate the launch of Friskies® Tasty Treasures® Accented With Real Bacon, we are channeling the power of cats and bacon into ‘Haus of Bacon,’ which is an incredible experience that can also benefit shelter cats,” says Lindsey Hogan, Friskies Brand Manager. “Please use #CatDreamsComeTrue to help us bring the delectable taste of bacon to shelter cats across the nation. We are hoping for a lot of support to help get the donation up to 50,000 cans.”

The incredible Jason Mecier was on location at the event and even gave fans the great experience to see him in action as he created the bacon-tastic sculpture of Grumpy Cat! All of the amazing, bacon-themed artwork presented at the art gallery was created by the one and only, Jason Mecier. Jason Mecier stated, ““Creating mosaics out of various items like food or candy has been a creative outlet that has allowed me to gain international attention and be featured in many prestigious galleries, but nothing compares to this. Teaming up with Friskies to create art involving two of my favorite things – bacon and cats – for the ‘Haus of Bacon’ is definitely a first for me but it has been a great experience.”
