Do you know a kid who is making an awesome impact? Maybe it’s your sibling, a cousin, your friend, or student? Well, it’s time to get their incredible work recognized by nominating them for the second annual Nickelodeon and TIME Kid of the Year TV special. After a wondrous and successful, inaugural TV event last year, Nickelodeon, TIME and TIME for Kids are bringing back the marvelous Kid of the Year special set to air in early 2022, but they need your help. Nickelodeon and TIME have been on an extensive, nationwide search to honor kids who are making a difference in their communities in the realms of social justice, science, education and beyond, and the deadline for submissions is soon approaching!

The Kid of the Year special will celebrate five, outstanding kids and their awe-inspiring work to help make the world a better place, with ultimately one finalist being recognized as the Kid of the Year and getting the chance to grace the cover of TIME Magazine with additional coverage in TIME For Kids.

Last year’s Kid of the Year special saw influential 15-year-old, Gitanjali Rao named as TIME’s 2020 Kid of the Year for her work “[using] technology to tackle issues ranging from contaminated drinking water to opioid addiction and cyberbullying” (source: press release). The remarkable TV special also featured exciting appearances from renowned celebrities, social media superstars and respected sports icons including Kristen Bell, Simone Biles, Dixie D’Amelio, Billie Eilish, Rob Gronkowski, Neil Patrick Harris, Ken Jeong, Angelina Jolie and Chloe Kim.

Kids truly have the world at the palm of their hands and they are blazing the trail one day at a time.
